Backing & Score
Where Sheet Music Comes Alive
Printed sheet music is silent. Backing & Score turns it into something that answers back: the music stops at every note until you play it right, slows down without changing pitch, and loops a hard passage as many times as you need. It runs in the browser, with nothing to install.

Which one are you?
Three groups use Backing & Score in three different ways. Pick yours to jump straight to the part that matters.
Two ways for it to hear you
Wait Mode has to know which note you just played, and there are two ways in. Plug in a MIDI keyboard and the instrument reports every note itself — the most certain path. With no MIDI port, it listens through the microphone you already have, which works on an acoustic piano and on instruments with no port at all. The system uses whichever is present; there is nothing to configure.

Practise at home, at no cost
The whole practice side is free forever once you are signed in — no card, no daily cap, not a trial. All you need is a browser and the instrument you already have.
- Find out where you went wrong while practising, instead of waiting for the next lesson to be corrected.
- Work a hard passage at your own tempo, repeated as often as you need, with nobody waiting.
- What you practised is recorded, so in class your teacher can see it rather than ask.
Teachers
Classes, live sessions and assignments
The Teacher plan opens the teaching side: create a class, teach live on the very score your students are looking at, set work and then know who actually practised. Your students pay nothing.
- Lesson time stops going mostly into correcting wrong notes — students can do that part at home.
- See the evidence of each session, labelled MIDI or microphone, instead of taking their word for it.
- Students pay nothing, so inviting one into a class takes no persuading.
Performing artists
Authoring works, export does notOn the music stand, and packaging your own scores
StageScore is on Google Play now, and the iOS version is in App Store review — so the performing end is real, on Android at least. The authoring end has been running even longer: editing the syncmap, drawing annotations and assigning parts on a PDF have all worked on Backing & Score for a while. What is missing is the step that exports it into a format StageScore can open.
StageScore — your score on the music stand
On Google Play now · iOS in App Store reviewNot everything belongs in a browser. On stage you want a score reader that runs entirely offline, with no sign-in and nothing sent anywhere.
- •Turn pages by tap, swipe or Bluetooth pedal
- •Setlists that carry a whole set in the right order
- •Draw, highlight and stamp markings on any page
- •Fully offline — no account, no data leaving the device
SongPack — package your own, then share or sell it
First four steps workYou can already do the authoring today: tap out the beat to record a syncmap, draw and annotate on the score, and assign notes to parts. What does not exist yet is packaging all of it into one file StageScore can open — the bridge is a file format rather than an API, so StageScore's offline promise stays intact.

Want to know when it is ready?
We have not built an automated waiting list, so there is no sign-up button here. Send us a line and we will tell you when SongPack export works or when the iOS version clears review. If you are already authoring PDFs on Backing & Score and have views on the export format, that is exactly when we want to hear from you.

Reimagining Music Education
We believe music practice should be engaging, not isolating. By combining real-time audio analysis with interactive sheet music, we bridge the gap between solo practice and classroom instruction. No downloads, no complex setups—just pure, interactive learning for schools, studios, and self-paced artists.

Why learners pay nothing: the marginal cost of one practice session is close to zero — Wait Mode runs on your own machine, and the catalogue is public domain. Locking it would shut out exactly the people who need it most while collecting very little. The people who pay are teachers, and later, buyers of curated anthologies.
